The 5 Best Restaurants in Atlantic City

Jul 18 , 2011

Atlantic City strives to be the east coast's answer to Las Vegas. One of the things that make Las Vegas such a great attraction is its excellent restaurants, and AC has made sure to keep up. Learn about the best restaurants in Atlantic City, which will delight your taste buds.

Bobby Flay Steak

Named after its owner, the famous celebrity-chef Bobby Flay, Bobby Flay Steak is designed as homage to the classic New York steakhouse. An entryway lined in red leather beckons guests into a cool, collected atmosphere tucked into a bustling casino.

Start with oysters or clams on the shell to taste the local seafood, and then move on to the restaurant’s impressive list of steak cuts. You can order the hanger steak for tasty value, or opt for the American Kobe strip, whose fat content is only matched by its price. Consider ordering the Philadelphia Style Strip Steak, which comes with caramelized onions and a provolone cheese sauce.

Cuba Libre

Located in Tropicana’s The Quarter, Cuba Libre is a restaurant straight out of Old Havana. There are many Cuban and Latin classics on the menu, including ceviche and shrimp enchiladas. The gaucho steak is exemplary, and it’s even better when paired with a mojito. Stay late for the salsa dancers. Like the other establishments amongst the 5 best restaurants in Atlantic City, Cuba Libre provides a dining experience unlike any other in AC.

Capriccio

Capriccio is a top notch Italian restaurant found at Resorts Casino [link to Resorts Casino]. Its award-winning menu features gourmet Italian culinary creations with views overlooking the Atlantic Ocean, making for a very unique dining experience.

Capriccio’s veal parmesan is exemplary, as is its homemade ravioli in truffle sauce. The risotto is also excellent and delightfully authentic tasting – the shrimp over risotto will transport you from the shores of New Jersey to a Mediterranean dining room. Capriccio is also home to one of the best Sunday brunches in Atlantic City. Save room for dessert.

Dock’s Oyster Bar

Dock’s is an Atlantic City institution, and it has strived for more than 110 years to earn its place amongst the 5 best restaurants in Atlantic City. It is located within walking distance of the Boardwalk, making it easily accessible to AC’s visitors, and its raw bar alone is more than worth the walk.

Oysters from up and down the eastern seaboard grace Dock’s raw menu, including selections from the waters of Malpaque Bay off Prince Edward Island, Maryland’s Chesapeake Bay, and Apalachicola Bay, Florida. Order your oysters individually, and enjoy them with a beer and Dock’s house made cocktail sauce.

White House Sub Shop

If you haven’t eaten here before, you might not have expected to see a sub shop listed amongst the 5 best restaurants in Atlantic City. However, those who have had the good fortune of tasting one of White House Sub Shop’s spectacular sandwich creations would know better. You really can’t go wrong with any of this shop’s sandwiches.

Jay Leno has raved about White House’s meatball sub, and it has also earned stellar reviews for its cheesesteak, Italian, and turkey & cheese. Each sub comes on a perfectly baked sub roll, sourced from the famous Formica Bros. Bakery, which is located down the street.
